The educational component of the Berean Baptist Head Start Program includes developmentally appropriate experiences in cognitive, communication, social, physical and emotional development, as well as creative expression. The program staff will assist children with developing their intrapersonal and interpersonal skills in maximizing self-management and independence, including appropriate learning activities and teaching techniques within each child’s level of comprehension and maturation. The program is focused on improving the cognitive and early literacy skills of the children in the program through literacy rich activities.  All experiences are planned to prepare children to be successful in school settings.

Our school readiness plan is aligned with the Head Start Program Performance Standards. We use The Creative Curriculum for Preschoolers. Teaching Strategies GOLD is an on-going assessment used to measure developmental progress in the areas of Cognitive, Social Emotional, Physical, Language Development, Literacy and Math, Science and Social Studies. The data below shows individual student growth based on teacher observation.
